I congratulate the organizers of the local Tea Party but am very confused over a rather trivial matter.

I watched the videos of the event, and again want to congratulate my good friend and fellow Optimist, Jack Oldham, for his unwavering work.

I am sorry that you guys and girls did not get the message that “we” did, in fact, take our country back in the last election. “We”, the people, do again have our voices heard and our concerns addressed.

I am so sorry that “you people” feel that you are not being heard, but am sure that you know that we will keep having elections on the appointed days, at which times you may demonstrate your displeasure in less theatrical, and more meaningful terms. God Bless America!!!

Or how about the unprecedented and unconstitutional invasion of Americans privacies like warrantless wiretapping and so many other intrusions called "THE PATRIOT ACT" to make it sound palatable that our previous President shoved down American's throats using fear as a means of control. Didn't hear a peep from all the simple minded sheep then either did we? But now that a black man is President, America's got to be saved from itself right?

Simple minded folks like those who voted for the biggest spending (Republican)president and (Republican) congress in American history who didn't even want to bother us with the war spending so they left it off the books, and never once raised a peep? Yeah, those same simple minded folks who all of a sudden need to "Take our country back" when a black man becomes president? Talk about getting religion late...

The very large, unusually peaceable gathering you so easily identify as "them" not "us" is composed primarily of folks who are not so much concerned with losing a single election as they are losing their country and the freedoms used to afford it's citizens. Lawful elections were not the most important part of the revolution in this country. Limited government, property rights, and self determination were much larger issues.

Ironically, when republics die, the lawful election is usually the last institution to go. Why? Because that is the illusion of freedom the uneducated, simple minded folks cling to tightest.
