Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Arvil Pressley of Monroe celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 5, 2009, with a dinner at Hilltop Restaurant. It was hosted by family and friends.

They were married Sept. 5, 1959. Mrs. Pressley is the former Margaret Shuman of Monroe; she is a homemaker and employed by Dr. Paul Keane, DPM in Monroe, as a secretary.

He is retired from Lowe’s Home Improvement in Monroe and AT&T in Charlotte.

Their children and spouses are Bill Pressley of Shelby and Scott Pressley and wife Amy of Monroe.

They have three grandchildren.
