The Union County Board of Education’s Policy Committee will meet Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the board room of Central Services at 400 N. Church St. Policies to be discussed ares: Policy 1-4, Board Responsibilities; Policy 4-7, Prohibition Against Unlawful Discrimination, Harassment, Bullying (Students); and 5-10, School Improvement Plan.

FLETCHER — David Woollen of Marshville won the adult solo gospel competition at the N.C. Mountain State Fair earlier this month, singing “The Anchor Holds. It was the second year in a row Woollen has won that competition.
