Barbara Harrison is a proven leader
Over the last year and a half, my wife Gail and I have had the opportunity to get to know Barbara Harrison, candidate for Mayor of Weddington. We met Barbara through her endless support of the community efforts against private sewer plants in Weddington. Barbara attended every one of the public hearings on The Woods and financially supported all of the efforts and fund raising events for Friends of Weddington. She was the only candidate in the mayors race to support the cause and did so generously with her time, research and money.
Some may be wondering why we say Barbra was the only Mayoral Candidate to support the Friends of Weddington cause. While it is true that Hughie Sexton did initially work with FOW to defeat The Woods plan he quickly removed his support and partnership when the group disagreed with some of his ideas. Weddington does not need another closed minded Mayor.
Some of you may remember the current Town Council and Nancy Anderson ultimately voted down The Woods proposal. I assure you contrary to what Nancy and some members of the council say it is the strong opinion of those who followed this issue to the end without the political and legal pressures placed upon them from the FOW fight our Mayor and our Council would have voted to approve The Woods on that awful private sewer plant proposal
Barbara Harrison is a proven leader with 30 years of experience, including 16 years with Johnson and Johnson managing a $90 million budget, working with regulators and international business leaders. Barbara retired as a vice president of that organization and moved to our community to call it home. She has the time to devote to Weddington as its new mayor. She has attended almost all of the Weddington town council meetings for the last three years. No other candidate can say that except the current mayor.
Please make time on November 3rd to vote and support Barbara Harrison as the new Mayor of Weddington.
We NEED a change!
