CMC-Union to celebrate cancer survivors

MONROE — The Edwards Cancer Center at Carolinas Medical Center-Union will host its fourth annual Cancer Survivors’ Day celebration on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Union County Agricultural and Conference Center, 3320-D Presson Road, to honor its cancer patients and their families.

The celebration will feature a live musical performance by A Deeper Shade of Blue, square dancing, bingo, children’s activities, food and prize drawings. All cancer survivors, their family members, and friends are welcome to take part in the festivities. Admission and parking are free. Reservations are requested and can be made by calling 704-993-2265.

About 300 to 400 cancer survivors and their families and friends are expected to come to this year’s celebration in Union County.

The Edwards Cancer Center at CMC-Union serves adults and children with various forms of cancer including skin, lung, breast, prostate, esophageal, colorectal, cervical, brain, bone, head and neck, pancreatic, endometrial and lymphomas.
