Wigginses win dance competition for 4-H

MONROE — Carl and Clara Wiggins of Monroe won the dance contest that was held Oct. 3 as part of a fundraiser for the Union County 4-H and Youth Development Foundation. In celebration of 100 years of 4-H in North Carolina, Union County 4-H Foundation staged an evening of music by Reflections Big Band and the amateur dance contest to raise money for the Union County 4-H program. Celebrity judges were Kristin Dodrill, a former Carolina Panthers cheerleader; state Sen. Eddie Goodall, R-Union; and John Hood, executive director of the John Locke Foundation The audience also gave cash donations to increase the dancers’ scores.
