WINGATE
John A. McManus Sr., 65, died Tuesday (Oct. 13, 2009) at home.
Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home of Monroe.
Darin Sanders
MONROE
Darin Lee Sanders, 44, died Friday (Oct. 9, 2009) at Carolinas Medical Center-Union.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Davey Baptist Church in Wingate, with burial in the church cemetery.
Born Dec. 9, 1964, in Union County, he was a son of Emma Carolyn Sanders of Monroe and the late Ira Lee Sanders.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Sanders of Monroe; two sons, Darius Autry of Atlanta, Mantley Gaddy of Newport, Maine; one daughter, Enderia Autry of Peachland; one brother, Michael Sanders of Monroe; three sisters, Veronica Autry, Angela Ruff, both of Monroe, Donna Autry of Wingate; and five grandchildren.
Public viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at Grier Funeral Service.
Frankie Thompson
WAXHAW
Frances Davis “Frankie” Thompson died Monday (Oct. 12, 2009).
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Waxhaw United Methodist Church, with burial in the Waxhaw City Cemetery.
Born in Union County, she was a daughter of the late Dan S. and Minnie Frances Gray Davis and was married to the late Collins D. Thompson. She was a retired school teacher.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Ruth Williams
MONROE
Ruth Chaney Williams, 77, died Monday (Oct. 12, 2009).
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Benton’s Cross Roads Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Born April 22, 1932, in Union County, she was a daughter of the late Lemuel Lee and Nannie Price Chaney.
Survivors include her husband, Oren Lee Williams of Monroe; one son, Tony Williams of Monroe; three daughters, Janet Stegall, Wendy Hill, Anna Gordon, all of Monroe; one sister, Louise Nance of Monroe; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Gordon Funeral Service.
