Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Kilgore of Monroe celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 4, 2009, with a dinner at Hilltop Restaurant. It was hosted by their children.

They were married Oct. 4, 1959, in Waxhaw. Mrs. Kilgore is the former Norma J. Starnes, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Starnes. She is retired from the Union County Courthouse, where she worked as a PBS operator.

His parents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kilgore. He is retired from the city of Monroe and is currently mayor.

Their children and spouses are: Edward and Wanda Stegall of Monroe, Kent and Beverly Ashcraft of Monroe and Mitchell and Amanda Kilgore of Wingate.

They have five grandchildren.
