The Penn House in Reidsville was the setting for the 4 p.m. Oct. 17, 2009, wedding of Mary Elizabeth Beeson and Jonathon Duane Joyner. The Rev. Richard Beeson and the Rev. Tim Ware officiated.

The bride is the daugther of Mr. and Mrs. Richard G. Beeson of Summerfield. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Beeson of Summerfield and Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Fox of Greensboro.

She graduated from Northwest Guilford High School in 2001 and from Lenoir-Rhyne College in 2005. She is employed by Distribution of America in Charlotte. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry S. Joyner of Waxhaw. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Norman J. Joyner of Waxhaw.

He is a 2000 graduate of Parkwood High School and graduated from N.C. State University in 2003. He is employed by Pike Nurseries in Charlotte.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a gown of ivory taffeta. It was fashioned with an open neckline, side draped waist and was strapless. The gown was trimmed with a metallic, beaded lace bodice. The trumpet skirt was enhanced with a sweep train. She carried a nosegay bouquet of soft golden roses, green snowballs and calla lilies.

Serving as maid of honor was Jennifer Beeson, sister of the bride, of Summerfield. Bridesmaids were Misty Blount of Spring Hill, Tenn., Kristin Kimball of Millersville, Md., and Patti Schmitz of Charlotte.

The groom’s brother, Andrew Joyner, of Gainesville, Fla., served as best man. Groomsmen were Harry Aoyagi of Waxhaw, Brad Beeson of Summerfield, Charlie Holliday of Waxhaw, and Michael Mingus of Waxhaw.

The wedding reception, held at The Penn House, followed the ceremony.

The rehearsal dinner was held on Oct. 16 at The Penn House.

After a wedding-trip cruise to the southern Carribean, the Joyners will reside in Waxhaw.
