MONROE — Katherine Angermann, 88, died Wednesday (Dec. 23, 2009) at Monroe Square Assisted Living.

Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Service.

Ann Arant

MONROE — Mrs. Wanona Ann Wentz Arant, 73, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Carolina Medical Center-Union. Wanona was born May, 2, 1936, in Union County, N.C., daughter of the late Louis and Sarah Privette Wentz, she was also preceded in death by her twin sister, Naomi Weatherly, and her brother, Simon P. Wentz. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2009, at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Wanona will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2009, at Mountain Springs Baptist Church, conducted by her pastor, the Reverend Phil McLean. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Bill Arant of the home; daughters, Debbie Arant O’Connor and husband Joseph of Charlotte, N.C., Teresa Arant Faassen and husband Jon of Monroe, N.C.; grandchildren, Brenden Faassen and Kaitlin Faassen; one brother, Ivan Wentz and wife Frances of Monroe, N.C.; sisters, Polly Baucom of Tabaccoville, N.C., Patsy Conklin, Mary Alice Couick, both of Monroe, N.C.; 11 nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Carolina Medical Center ICU and Critical Care staff and everyone who assisted in the care of Wanona.

MONROE — John Donald Pollock, 76, died Monday (Dec. 21, 2009) at Carolinas Medical Center-Union.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Lakeland Memorial Park.

Born Feb. 26, 1933, in Union County, he was a son of the late John William and Carrie Amanda Trull Pollock.
