Coleman John Broadway, 61, of Peachland, died Monday, Jan. 18, 2010. at Anson Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Wadesboro with burial to follow in church cemetary in Burnsville.

Visitation time will be Friday, Jan. 22 at 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

Helena Gaskins Clyburn

MARSHVILLE

Helena Gaskins Clyburn, 96, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center-Union in Monroe.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Calvary AME Zion Church in Monroe, with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.

Born in Lancaster County, SC, November 4, 1913, a daughter of the late Johnny and Queen Gaskins Jones.

Survivors include two daughters, Johnnie Mae Caudle of Monroe, and Willie Mae Clyburn of Indian Trail; two sons, Herman B. Clyburn of Peachland, and Lenzo Clyburn of Marshville; two sisters Patsy Clyburn and Hattie Stevenson, both of Charlotte. 30 grandchildren and 76 great-grandchildren.

Public viewing will be held at 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monroe.

James Curtis Glenn

MONROE

James Curtis Glenn died on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010 in Fort Myers, Fla.

He was born Feb. 23, 1957 in Monroe. The son of Sarah Glenn and the late John Glenn.

He is survived by his mother of Charlotte; two sons, Sean McClendon of Charlotte and Patrick Blakney of Monroe; his daughter Katilyn Soeder of Fort Myers, Fla; two brothers, John Glenn of Marshville and Jerry Glenn of Lancaster, SC.

Memorial services will be Saturday at 12 p.m. at First Washington Baptist Church. Rev. Frank Butler will officiate.

McCray Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
