Tom J. Autry

MARSHVILLE -- Tom J. Autry, 81, died Friday, January 29, 2010, at Hospice of Union County.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2010, at the Wingate City Cemetery.

He was born April 3, 1928, in Union County, son of the late John and Maude Broome Autry.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shelia Autry Hailey.

He was retired from Yale Norton.

Survivors include a son, Tommy R.Autry of Marshville, two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Jo Smith of Monroe and Johnnie Cashner of Hallifax, Pa.

McEwen Funeral and Cremation Service of Monroe is serving the family.

Eugene Ellinger

MONROE -- Eugene Richard Ellinger, 87, of Sun City Center, Florida, formerly of Monroe, N.C., died Thursday (January 28, 2010) at Plaza West in Florida.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday (February 2, 2010) at Davis Funeral Chapel in Monroe.

Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was born August 6, 1922, in Manheim, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Hermen S. Ellinger and Sadie Mellinger Ellinger. He was preceded in death by a son, John Robert Ellinger on October 4, 2009.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Arthur M. Ellinger.

He was a retired accountant with RayMark Industries, Inc with over 44 1/2 years of service and was aa World War II Army Veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Doris K. Ellinger of Sun City Center, Florida; a son, Michael Eugene Ellinger and wife Patricia Ellinger of Plant City, Florida; a daughter -in- law Tara Ellinger of Greensboro, North Carolina.

There are 2 grandchildren, Joshua Ellinger of Greensboro, North Carolina and Meghan Ellinger of Charleston, South Carolina.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Tuesday (February 2, 2010) prior to the funeral service at Davis Funeral Home, 1003 East Franklin Street.

George B. Hasty

PEACHLAND -- George B, Hasty, 60 of Peachland, died Thursday at his home,

Born December 10, 1949, in Anson County, he was a son of the late Bruce and Johnnie M. Hasty.

Services wil be Monday at 2 p.m. from the Peachland Baptist Church wiht burial to follow in the Peachland City Cemetery..

The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to the service in the church’s fellowship building.

He is survived by brothers, Gary Hasty of Indian Trail, and Robert Hasty of Wadesboro,; sisters, Sandra King of Lumberton and Phyllis Dellinger of Dandridge, Tenn.

Memorials may be made to the Peachland Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 72, Peachland, N.C. 28133.

Eula Mae Simpson Parker

MARSHVILLE – Mrs. Eula Mae Simpson Parker, 84, died Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Autumn Care of Marshville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at New Hope Baptist Church in Marshville. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Parker was born September 7, 1925 in Union County and was the daughter of the late Lonnie Hampton and Lomar Purser Simpson. She was a retired secretary with Drew Insurance and was preceded in death by a son Ronald and by brothers Charlie and Jessie Simpson.

Mrs. Parker is survived by her husband, Lane DeVore Parker; son, Douglas Simpson Parker (Charlene); and sister, Connie Little, all of Marshville.
