Gracie Mae Kilgo Brewer, 63, of Monroe, died Sunday, (Jan. 31, 2010) at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Joyce Tucker Griffin
Monroe
Joyce Tucker Griffin, 79, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010. She was born in Greensboro, NC on January 12, 1931 daughter of the late Dwight Nicholas and Alma Rorie Tucker. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mrs. Griffin is survived by her husband, Charles A. Griffin, sons, Brian K. Griffin and wife, Regina and C. Mitchell Griffin, sister, Linda T. Rummage all of Monroe, grandchildren, Bradley Griffin and Lauren Griffin, adopted grandchildren, Ginger Coker and Josh Self. The family will receive friends Wednesday prior to the service from 12:30 until 1:45 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Paul Douglas Davis

Paul Douglas Davis, 51 of Matthews, NC died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at
Presbyterian Hospital Matthews.
Paul was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish every chance he
got. He was also a huge fan of Nascar. Paul was always willing to lend a
helping hand to a friend for anyone in need. His generosity and kindness
will be missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include his brothers, Frank and his wife Heather of Lancaster, SC,
Keith and his fiancee Kaye Frickhoeffer of Indian Trail, his sisters Linda
Davis of Matthews and Shirley Davis of Charlotte. Paul is also survived by
Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
His family will receive family and friends from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on
Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Heritage Funeral Home in Indian Trail. A
memorial service to honor and celebrate Paul’s life will be held at 6:00 pm,
also at the funeral home
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County,

Mary Marsh Perry Helms

Mrs. Mary Marsh Perry Helms, age 88, of Marshville, passed away Sunday (January 31, 2010) at Autumn Care.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday (February 3, 2010) at Marshville City Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Alex L. Martin and Reverend Frank Crump.
Mrs. Helms was born on June 6, 1921, a daughter of the late Frank Marsh and Eula Deese Marsh. She was a retired school teacher, having taught for 31 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, F. D. Helms.
Survivors include two sons, Steve Perry and wife, Hilda, of Marshville, Larry Perry and wife, Renie, of Pinola; sister-in-law, Pauline Marsh of Marshville. There are two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
There will be a reception and visitation following the service at First Baptist Church of Marshville; 404 North Elm Street.

Margie Helms
MATTHEWS
Mr. Margie Helms, 90, died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Lake Park Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 6525 Old Monroe Rd., Indian Trail. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn East Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Helms was born May 10, 1919 in Union County and was the son of the late Charlie Price and Connie McCoy Helms. He was a retired welder and was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Marze Helms and a son, Rev. Charles Helms.
Mr. Helms is survived by his sons, Rick Helms, Jerry Helms, and Harvey Helms, all of Matthews; daughters, Margie Wright of Matthews, and Robbie Dellinger of Monroe; brothers, Burvin Helms and T. C. Helms, both of Matthews; sisters, Myrtle Privette of Matthews and Callie Helms of Monroe; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Eugene Richard Ellinger
Mr. Eugene Richard Ellinger, age 87, of Sun City Center, Florida, formerly of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday (January 28, 2010) at Plaza West in Florida.
A Service to Celebrate his Life will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday (February 2, 2010) at Davis Funeral Chapel in Monroe. Interment will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Ellinger was born on August 6, 1922, in Manheim, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Hermen S. Ellinger and Sadie Mellinger Ellinger. He was preceded in death by a son, John Robert Ellinger on October 4, 2009. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur M. Ellinger and Lester Ellinger; two sisters, Pauline Fritsch and Mary Ellinger; and one step-brother, Charles Mellinger.
He was a retired accountant with RayMark Industries, Inc. with over 44½ years of service. He was also a World War II Army Veteran.
Mr. Ellinger was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Monroe and VFW Lodge # 587 in Manheim, Pennsyvania.
Survivors include his wife, Doris K. Ellinger of Sun City Center, Florida; a son, Michael Eugene Ellinger and wife, Patricia Ellinger, of Plant City, Florida; a daughter-in-law Tara Ellinger of Greensboro, North Carolina. There are 2 grandchildren, Joshua Ellinger of Greensboro, North Carolina and Meghan Ellinger of Charleston, South Carolina.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Tuesday (February 2, 2010) prior to the funeral service at Davis Funeral Home, 1003 East Franklin Street.
Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 801 South Hayne Street, Monroe, NC 28112.
